چکیده

The measurement of Reverberation Time (RT) is a quite important estimation of the sound quality in a closed environment. From this measurement, in fact, one can gain information about intelligibility of signals and amount of reflection energy. In particular the liturgical hall of a church is an interesting environment because of its relevant volume and the materials adopted for the interior design. In this paper the authors present an experimental study of a new built church, in which the geometry of two lateral chapels produces interesting acoustical effects. A correction of the RT is proposed in the last part of the paper, by means of absorbing panels insertion. The intervention has been dimensioned, tuned and designed in a predictive software framework. Key-Words: Acoustical Field, Church Acoustics, Reverberation Time, Simulation Software.

Experiments in Room Acoustics: Modelling of a Church Sound Field and Reverberation Time Measurements

In this paper a study of the acoustical response of a new built church is shown. This study is based on the measurement of reverberation time, adopting the noise interrupted method, according to the International Standard. This method allows to evaluate the reverberation time by means of acoustical sound level acquisition and analysis. The reverberation time is one of the principal parameters t...

Comparative study of Daylight Design in Safavid Mosque and Renaissance Church ase studies: Jame Abbasi Mosque in Isfahan and St. Peter Church in Rome

This study compares the Safavid Mosque and the Renaissance Church in the field of daylight design. The present study seeks to answer these questions: What methods are used to provide the light in the mosque and church, and what are the similarities and differences between the “qualities of the presence of daylight” in each of these religious buildings? To limit the scope of research, Jame Abbas...

Virtual Acoustic Reconstruction of the Church at the Lost Monastery of Santa Maria de la Murta

Archeological acoustics is a part of acoustics that studies ancient environments which were dedicated (completely or partly) to sound performing. The combination of this acoustic area in conjunction with room acoustics enables the study of the acoustic evolution of existing buildings (in terms of the historical documentation) or even, make the acoustic reconstruction of rooms which were destroy...

MONDAY MORNING , 4 JUNE 2001 CRYSTAL ROOM , 8 : 30 TO 11 : 30 A . M Session 1 aAA Architectural Acoustics : Concert Hall Measurements

To achieve enough variability for different performances, a number of new concert halls with secondary hard chambers coupled to the main floor have recently received positive evaluations. As a result, the acoustics of coupled spaces is drawing growing attention in architectural acoustics. In these coupled spaces, the sound energy decays with different exponential constants under certain conditi...
